Yokeback arm chair Ming dynasty,( the origional can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art) it was origionaly used as the chair for a Chinese painting desk. The design of this chair is simple.The top of the chair fame is Cyma shaped, The back is a flat splat with moulded edges and a very small cut out were the splat fits on to the chair seat. (Hence the name yoke back)The top of the back frame and splat are curved back slightly.
