This double seating porter chair has been designed from an origional Porter chair. The Porter chair was a type of chair used in medieval England and later France. Since there were often cold breezes near a front door, the origional chair was designed to envelop and keep a person in the house relatively warm It is best described as a hollowed-out egg shaped chair very high and with an enclosed back, standing on end. It has four cabriole shaped legs, and hand rests, It is large enough to allow 2 peaple to sink back into it This reproduction Measures: 5 inches high x 3 inches wide x 2 inchs deep and is available in a wgite finisg and upholstered in a white Fabric
16th Century Low Round Table-Walnut
Spanish furniture was simples in design and construction it was much heavier than Italian or French and the ornamentation showed Moorish and Classical influence.This Round table top is square cut giving to poduce the heavier look associated with the funitue of this era.The four leg supports have been carved in the Spanish curvature and notching style forming a flat bracket at the top of each leg to support the table. The feet have been formed as a continuous part of the leg.The speader bars with the same curvatures as the legs have a notched joint at the centre were they cross. The table measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter x 2 1/2 inches high and is available in a walnut finish.

17th C Refectory Table - walnut
During the 16th century, Spanish design was a unique blend of Renaissance and Moorish design. In this table ( or escritorio)we see how the two styles have been combined with a simple, square edged, plank table top and heavy carving on the table skirt and drawer fronts. Referred to as a long table, a term that supersedes the name refractory table which once applied to a table of this size but was changed C 1540 after the abolishment of the monasteries during the reformation, is supported on ring turned spindle legs with spreader bas just above floor level. The four drawer fronts are decorated with a leaf carving and have ring style drawer pulls. A similar carving has been repeated on the remaining thee sides of the table apron. The table measures 2 1/2 inches high x 6 inches long x 23 inches wide and is available in a walnut finish.

Bar or Counter
English mid-19th century. The low bar with oval top contoured to form demi lune shape counter. The Brass bar just below the counter follows the demi lune shape of the counter and is extended out by three small brass rods secured to the bar front. There are 2 dowers in the back of the counter and a single glass shelf inside . The simplicity of the design is emphasised by the plain mouldings and the cured timber that forms the sides of the bar. A straight shelf 1 inch wide is fitted midway between the 2 angled shelves creating additional space for magazines, extra books or ornaments. C1600 Spanish Court Cabinet
Carving was the main ornamentation of the Italian Renaissance furniture. Perfectly proportioned, exquisitely detailed, the legs on this cabinet are gunbarrel turned and the carved ornament consists mainly of faceted lozenge shapes. The back legs are plain rectangular characteristic even on extemely ornate pieces of furniture c1670.The idea that the description Court has royal connotations is almost certainly wrong the word court is French for short and refers to the low height of the cabinet. The spreader bar at the bottom and sides of the cabinet are fluted as is the font edge of the middle shelf.
