Chinoiserie Secretary Desk-Black 1725-1750- 1:12 scale

The Secretary Desk is one of the most common antique desk forms. This reproduction was designed in a Chinoiserie style, inspired by the Asian decorative arts. The two beautifully painted (back and front) doors that depict traditional Chinese motifs, open to reveal storage shelves, cubbies and drawers. The lower section is made up of four wide drawers topped by a slant top desk. There are two small wooden sliders when pulled out support the hinged desktop. Two small drawers and 5 small divided compartments are fitted across the top of the desk. The whole is a single, tall piece of furniture with bracket feet and gold painted finials on either side of the hood.
