This double seating porter chair has been designed from an origional Porter chair. The Porter chair was a type of chair used in medieval England and later France. Since there were often cold breezes near a front door, the origional chair was designed to envelop and keep a person in the house relatively warm  It is best described as a hollowed-out egg shaped chair very high and with an enclosed back, standing on end.
