18th Century Kneehole desk with superstructure. .The superstructure, a unique fearure of this desk, contains a central cupboard flanked by 3 drawers on either side.A carved gold painted gallery decorates the top of the superstructure. Ming Dynasty Writing Table Chair-Black
Yoke back arm chair Ming dynasty,( the original can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art) it was originally used as the chair for a Chinese painting desk. The design of this chair is simple. The top of the chair fame is Cyma shaped, The back is a flat splat with moulded edges and a very small cut out were the splat fits on to the chair seat. (Hence the name yoke back)The top of the back frame and splat are curved back slightly. The chair has open arms curved outwards with straight supports. The seat frame is moulded with a curved valance that forms part of the front framework. Shaped brace blocks have been incorporated on the front legs, under the seat at the sides and at the front of the chair under the arm rests. The chair measures 6 1/4 inches high x 2 inches wide x 1 1/2 inches deep and is available in black.

Ming Dynasty Writing Table(1368-1644) -Black
It is unique in shape and is one of the most important objects from the period. Used for painting and writing. The original was produced in the Richard Workshop the Imperial lacquer workshop set up in the early Ming period and situated to the north-west of the 'Forbidden City compound in Peking (now Beijing).[1]By at least the Ming dynasty carved lacquer was being used all over the visible surfaces of pieces of furniture, a dauntingly expensive proposition. The chair has been designed with an adjustable writing table fitted to the arm on the right side of the chair. The sides of the chair are faux cane and the arms have small arm rests upholstered in a soft brown leather.
