19th Century Lois Phillipe Round table top supported on square tapered pedestal. The pedestal stands on a Square Chamfered Plinth with four carved bracket feet. A straight shelf 1 inch wide is fitted midway between the 2 angled shelves creating additional space for magazines, extra books or ornaments. Yokeback arm chair Ming dynasty,( the origional can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art) it was origionaly used as the chair for a Chinese painting desk. The design of this chair is simple.The top of the chair fame is Cyma shaped, The back is a flat splat with moulded edges and a very small cut out were the splat fits on to the chair seat. (Hence the name yoke back)The top of the back frame and splat are curved back slightly.
